Australian Idol: Darren Hayes and Tina Arena Hold Auditions In London

Posted: 30 Apr 2008 12:05 PM CDT

Australian Idol

We recently reported that the Australian Idol judges would be travelling to London in order to discover some ex-pat Australians who may have what it takes to appear on the reality TV show.

It has now been revealed that pop stars, Darren Hayes and Tina Arena, will be joining the normal judges in the search of London talent.

Hayes, former frontman of band Savage Garden, told Confidential: “As an Australian entertainer living in London I definitely have a soft spot for Aussies trying to make it overseas. Rather than judging people, I’m going to be looking for that little bit of magic that someone once saw in me.

“I think potential is a huge criteria for a musical career and hopefully Tina and I can help discover some. I love Dicko and Tina so I’m sure I’m going to have a blast.”

Kerry Katona Signs Six Figure Iceland Deal!

Kerry Katona: Crazy In Love

This story just baffles me! The Sun have reported that Iceland have signed Kerry Katona once again as the face of their brand. Neither is she doing it for free, just to keep her face on the telly. No the supermarket chain are paying her a six figure sum for the pleasure!

Now either Iceland bosses don’t lower themselves to watch reality TV, so they don’t know how badly this girl comes across. Or worse still, they just don’t care because Kerry is exactly the sort of mum they want to lure into their freezer aisle!

It has certainly put me off buying any of their Turkey Twizzlers! I can’t even see the stores logo without thinking of brash, loud and common Kerry!

Worse news still! The reality TV star has also signed a contract with MTV for a second series of her car crash reality TV show!!!

The Baron: With Mike Reid, Malcolm McLaren and Suzanne Shaw

Posted: 29 Apr 2008 06:55 AM CDT

In a tribute to the late Mike Reid, ITV1 will air The Baron, the final TV show he made before his death last July. The show will launch this Thursday night.

The show will start three days after Mike Reid, Malcolm McLaren and Suzanne Shaw arrived in the remote Scottish village of Gardenstown. Mike immediately started on his PR offensive, Suzanne went after the vital kids vote while Malcolm embarked on a less than orthodox campaign. The competition for the title of Baron is hotting up and over the next three days the candidates start to turn on each other.

During episode two, Malcolm's campaign takes on a darker purpose when he declares a sinners day "for all to have sex like crazy" and when he tries to start a revolution, the village is rocked to the core.

During their first three days in Gardenstown, Mike and Suzanne took every opportunity they could to increase their support from the villagers. Having already alienated the village, Malcolm goes in search of the alternative vote from the local bikers. Mike and Malcolm are also clearly unimpressed with one another so far. Mike muses on Malcolm: "Down south we have a name for it. A load of crap." In two days time, the candidates will get a second chance to address the locals at the annual Strawberry Fair. It's an opportunity to set out their manifestos as would be Barons. Early indications show that Mike and Suzanne are neck and neck while Malcolm is left trailing in their wake.

When Mike and Malcolm are asked to help a villager paint his boat, Malcolm is reluctant to participate and his anarchist roots come to the fore when he paints an A for Anarchy sign on the vessel. The boat owner is not impressed while Malcolm remains unrepentant. "I've not come here to be a painter and decorator, thank you. I've come here to be above it all. It's his bloody boat, he can paint it himself."

Mike carries on helping finish the paint job but has some harsh words for his fellow candidate. "Malcolm has shown his true colours. Basically the man is like a two-year-old child, you tell him something you want him to do and he does exactly the opposite. He wastes time, he upsets people but of course he's known to be controversial. From where I'm sitting he gets right up my nose."

Malcolm tells the cameras later. "Only someone as sycophantic and pathetic as Frank Butcher would paint his boat, I just wanted to kick the paintbrush out of his hand frankly."

That evening, Malcolm and Suzanne cook for their host families and invited guests. Donald, the local reverend is the guest in Malcolm's house which makes for an interesting evening for the former Sex Pistols manager.

On the advice of the Reverend, the next morning Malcolm gets up early and heads to the Spar shop in an attempt to win round some of the villagers. Mike and Suzanne spend the day working with local businesses; Suzanne in the bakery and Mike next door in the butcher's with Suzanne's host Bill. Mike introduces himself to Bill. "Bill the Butcher, I'd like you to meet a real man - Frank the Butcher.”

Malcolm's campaign isn't doing too well and Donald tells him that "you're not positive enough about the village. You need to be more positive and assertive. You need to say that you love the place, you love the people and you'd love to come here for a year to do your Baronry bit."

Malcolm retorts: "I'm not sure that's true, I have to be honest with people. They have to come see me too. The fact that I'm here and have travelled an awful long way is a pretty good. What can the village do for me? People are shutting doors in my face, people don't want to talk, they tell me to follow Jesus every five minutes, I'm going a bit crazy here."

The day of the annual Strawberry Fair dawns where the candidates will each deliver their speeches, outlining to the locals what they'll do for the village if they become Baron. Before any of that happens, the locals decide to test the celebrities by getting each of them to set up a stall of their own at the fair. Suzanne has a brain wave and wants to set up a stall using Malcolm's face as a giant dartboard. "I think I'd get a lot of people at the stall, it's a bit controversial as well." Mike decides on a stall where the locals can pay to throw wet sponges at him while Malcolm attempts to set up a 'sinners tent.' Having given up hope of winning the title Malcolm has a different kind mission in mind saying he is going to declare "a sinners day for all." How will his idea go down with the deeply religious locals?

Before long its time for the celebrities to take to the stage in front of the entire village at the Strawberry Fair. The harbourmaster Michael Watt introduces Suzanne first who promises to raise funds for storm gates and the public hall. Mike asks the villagers not to have pre-conceived ideas of who he is and to attempt to get to know him. He also reveals that he has loved his time in the village. Malcolm is up last and the competition to become Baron takes a dramatic twist as he tells the shocked villagers, "this is the worst place I've ever been to in my entire life, I'm sick to death already and I've only been here a few days." The speech goes from bad to worse and ends with Malcolm being heckled by the locals and forcibly removed from the stage. Will he have to leave the village for good?

Dancing On Ice: Chris Fountain Complains About Suzanne Shaws Win

Dancing On Ice 2008: Chris Fountain

Dancing On Ice runner up, Chris Fountain, has been complaining about Suzanne Shaws shock win and puts her success down to the publicity given to her injuries.

Chris told Star magazine: “I had a few injuries, but nothing that got publicised too much. There was a lot of stuff about Suzanne’s ribs and Suzanne’s ankle, but I didn’t want to be seen moaning about getting injured. It’s ice skating - you’re bound to get injured.

“I had bruises everywhere, but I just got on with it.”

Asked if he wished he’d beaten single mum Suzanne Chris said: “Yes, to be honest. I would have liked to say I was the champion.”

Chris recently revealed that he may be about to pen his first celebrity autobiography.

She told The Mirror: “Yes, I’m going back to defend my title - Heavyweight Minogue is back!”

Commenting on the alledged feuds between her and two of the other judges, she said: “I just kept my mouth shut through all that. I found it somewhere between funny and disturbing.

“There were some moments when I felt like I was back at school. It was distressing but I’m prepared for it this year.”

Simon Cowell recently revealed that Dannii would be offered a big pay rise this year which no doubt helped her make the decision to stay!

The fifth prospective Oliver to secure a place in the semi-final was announced today (Saturday 26 April) on BBC One’s I’d Do Anything.

Andrew Lloyd Webber FURIOUS At Keisha’s Departure

Posted: 28 Apr 2008 05:22 AM CDT

Anyone watching the I’d Do Anything results show last night couldn’t have missed Sir Andrew Lloyd Webbers furious departure from set before the show ended.

Sir Andrew was forced to choose between Niamh Perry and Keisha Amponsa-Banson after the sing off and rightly chose to save Niamh.

But Andrew snapped: "This is a complete and utter travesty. Neither of you should be in the bottom two, it's completely wrong.

"I've been put into a situation that I have never wanted to be in.

"For the first time on a television show, I am angry."

I don’t know why Lloyd Webber is so upset. He may have liked Keisha, but this was her third time in the bottom two and if she can’t connect with an audience then how good would she be on a West End stage?

This show is decided by a public vote, thats the whole premise of the competition. If Sir Andrew wanted to choose his own lead actress for the role of Nancy then he shouldn’t have bothered with the whole talent search idea.

Sarah Ferguson’s Show In Drug Scandal

Posted: 28 Apr 2008 04:32 AM CDT

A reality TV show featuring Sarah Ferguson has been put in jeoprady after one of the main stars of the show was arrested over the drug death of a friend.

The show was provisionally called "The Duchess In Hull" and was to see Sarah moving to Hull and helping the unhealthy Sargerson family, living on benefits improve their eating habits.

But this Saturday police arrested Terri Sargerson, 24, after the death of an 18-year-old man at her council flat in Hull.

A Humberside Police source said: "Initially Terri was arrested on suspicion of murder. But the death is now thought to have been caused by a drugs overdose."

ITV chiefs are expected to hold a crisis meeting today about the reality TV show's future. A source said: "It is inconceivable the documentary can be shown at this stage."

A spokeswoman for the Duchess told The Sun: "She has been alerted and has asked to be kept informed."

Alan Sugar

Get set for an Apprentice shocker next month as Sir Alan Sugar sacks two of the women amidst a cheating scandal.

The teams are set a task in Morocco but two of the girls are sacked as Sir Alan discovers that they attempted to bribe a market trader.

A show insider tells the Sunday Mirror, "When Sir Alan learns what they’ve been up to he completely blows his top.

“He has never, ever, been as angry as this. The team with the two girls tries to bribe and cheat its way to success and that’s just not acceptable.

"The contestants are nasty and bitchy about each other every week but this is on a whole new level.

“Viewers’ jaws will be hitting the floor as the girls almost come to blows.”

Katie Price To Star In Elvira: Mistress of the Dark

Posted: 27 Apr 2008 03:37 PM CDT

Reality TV star, Katie Price, may be about to make her big screen debut. Producers of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, a remake of the classic 1988 film are reportedly keen for her to take on the role of Elvira.

“It’s a very good time to be British in Hollywood and you can’t fail to notice Jordan - she knows how to shine,” an insider told the Daily Star. “Cassandra Peterson has been in talks about a remake for some time but didn’t want to take on the role again herself, even thought she still appears as Elvira.

“Everyone was at a loss until they spotted Jordan on a gossip website. She just looks perfect and then they discovered she has a penchant for one-liners. She will have to lose the tan, though. And Cassandra’s Elvira worked because of the mixture of her dark image and her Valley Girl wit - so Kate will have to learn an American accent.”

Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace To Release Autobiography

Posted: 27 Apr 2008 03:25 PM CDT

Big Brother star, Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, is to become the latest in a long line of ‘z’ list celebrities to release a ‘tell all’ autobiography.

The book will be titled Witness: Surviving Guns, Gangs and Glamour, and will tell the story of Aisleyne’s difficult childhood, her time as a glamour model, and stint in the Big Brother house.

“Of the millions of people who watched Aisleyne on Big Brother, very few realised that she had lived quite such an extraordinary life,” said Mainstream’s managing director Tim Campbell.

“She now writes for a couple of women’s magazines, has a large fan base and does huge amounts of charity work, and it is the fact that she has forged a successful career from the least promising of starts that got us interested in the book. We have high hopes for it.”

Strictly Come Dancing 2008: Len Goodman In Wage Row

Strictly Come Dancing 2007

Strictly Come Dancing judge, Len Goodman is reportedly holding out from signing his Strictly Come Dancing contract with the BBC, until they up his wages.

Last year Len reportedly wore himself out whilst filming for Strictly Come Dancing in the UK and Dancing With Stars in the States. He refuses to do the same this year unless the BBC make it really worth his while.

A source told the Sunday Mirror: “Len wore himself out trying to do both shows at the same time at the end of last year. He was leaving the BBC studio and catching the plane to Los Angeles. It is just not possible to carry on like that - unless the money makes it worth his while.”

A BBC spokesman said: “It is our policy not to discuss contracts.”

Piers Morgan & Alan Sugar Fight By Text!!

Posted: 27 Apr 2008 02:28 PM CDT

Britain’s Got Talent judge, Piers Morgan has admitted that he and Apprentice boss, Alan Sugar have been trading insults by texts. How very modern!

“Britain’s Got Talent has been hitting about 11.5 million while The Apprentice has about 8.5 million viewers,” Morgan told the Daily Star Sunday. “I loved it the other day when Sir Alan sent me a text comparing himself to a maggot because he says his show is going to slowly catch up and overtake us in the ratings war.

“I decided to look the definition of maggot up in the dictionary and I have to say I agree with his description of himself. A maggot is described as like ‘a larva often found in decaying, dying matter’. In American dictionaries they call a maggot a ‘revolting human being’. I would probably agree with that also.”

Sugar recently claimed that Piers is nothing more than Simon Cowell’s “monkey” on Britain’s Got Talent.

However, Piers insisted: “Being called a monkey by Sir Alan is like being called fat by Sir Nicholas Soames. Sugar looks more like a monkey to me than anyone. But I take these insults in the good spirit they are intended.”

Britains Got Talent: George Sampson Returns!

Britain's Got Talent Logo

On Britain’s Got Talent last year 14 year old George Sampson from Warrington wowed the Judges with his own unique street dancing, but just missed out on a place in the semi-finals.

A year older, and about 5 inches taller, George is back determined to prove that this year he can make it. George has a real passion for dance, and even though his Mum can't afford to pay for lessons, George spends his time dancing on the streets of Manchester for cash to pay for them. And this lad is truly dedicated to his love of dance practising for four hours on a week day, five hours on a Saturday and up to eleven hours on a Sunday all in the hope that he can one day fulfil his dream of dancing professionally. Simon last year described George as "Fantastic" but what will this year's appraisal be?

Britain’s Got Talent: Suleman Mirza Does Michael Jackson!

Posted: 26 Apr 2008 06:26 AM CDT

Britain's Got Talent Logo

In tonights Britain’s Got Talent the first act up in London is so determined to get a yes that he has a secret weapon up his sleeve which he's hoping will guarantee him a place in the next round. Suleman Mirza from London is a lawyer by day and by night he transforms into a Michael Jackson impersonator with his act Signature, as he explains, "I don't think the Judges will have ever seen an act like mine before it will be a complete surprise, I really believe they'll love it.

In this act there will be a lot of moon walking, but there is a twist, and if they weren't Michael Jackson fans before they may even turn into one". Suleman moonwalks his way around the stage, to the delight of the audience, and Simon. All is going well until someone (Madhu Singh) walks past Ant & Dec and makes his way onto stage armed with a broom, "heah come back, get off stage" shouts Dec and the audience and the Judges all seemed puzzled as to what is going on, until the two start a Bhangra/Michael Jackson dance off, bringing the whole theatre to its feet. Have we just seen the potential winners of the show? The audience certainly seem to think so.

Britain’s Got Talent: Can Graeme Garton and Terry Woods Get Out Of Tescos?

On tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent show, best friends and co Tesco workers, Graeme Garton and Terry Woods, are hoping this opportunity could change their lives forever.

Graham and Terry have been best friends since they were six and they both have a dream to leave their day jobs behind and sing on stage doing what they love. Singing Crowded Houses track Falling At Your Feet. Could this be the first act to make it through to the next stages, from what has been a very depressing day in Blackpool?

Britain’s Got Talent: Sam & Vicky Lane (Vizage) Told To Give Up The Singing!

Posted: 26 Apr 2008 04:21 AM CDT

Britain's Got Talent Logo

In Britain’s Got Talent tonight, husband and wife act Sam and Vicky Lane (34 & 30), otherwise known as Vizage hope they can brighten the Judges day.

For years they have been doing their quick change act in the pubs and clubs around Blackpool but it's not left them much time for family life, "doing the variety circuit is very hard work, we have always wanted to start a family but we always seem to be putting it off because of work. If we were to win this we could at last think about starting a family of our own", explains Sam and Vicky. With the three Judges in foul moods it's a big challenge for Vizage who take their places for the performance of their lives.

Their quick change act is obviously a hit with the crowd and even Simon looks impressed, that is until Vicky starts to sing Madonna's classic Material Girl. With an impressive seven changes of outfit from Vicky the audience is cheering them along, but Simon, never slow on bursting someone's bubble points out that "if you had come out her and just sang that song you would have lasted five seconds, you are not a very good singer". Sam and Vicky look dejected and the Judges won't let the point go. So they are given an option, "if you promise not to sing again we will put you through", but Vicky and Sam are determined to stand by their act, "we have been doing our vocal illusion act for six years and your are the first people that have ever said that". Will Sam and Vicky agree to ditch the singing element of their act to make it through to the next round or will they stand by what they believe is a good act?

Britain’s Got Talent: Alex Lees Gets A Second Chance!

Posted: 26 Apr 2008 04:17 AM CDT

Britain's Got Talent Logo

In tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent show, no one is feeling more confident than 8 year old Alex Lees from Manchester, as he tells Ant & Dec he's not at all worried about performing in front of the Judges, "I'm going to knock Simon Cowell dead, I'm going to strut my stuff and show them what I can do!". Alex gets himself psyched up as his Mum waits emotionally backstage, but Alex certainly isn't letting the pressure get to him as he introduces himself to the Judges saying, "I'm really confident". Alex is going to sing to the Judges today and as he explains to them he discovered he had star quality after he entered a Pontins competition at 18 months old, "I won bonny baby twice".

Singing Robbie and Kylie's hit Kids Alex struts around the stage, but the Judges don't seem impressed with his singing voice and are quick to buzz him out. "Let me give you the good news Alex" says Simon, "You are probably one of the most confident people I have ever met in my life, now the not so good news, you can't sing very well", "you just wait till you see me next year" retorts Alex, much to the audiences delight. But Piers and Amanda agree, they can both watch Alex but just can't listen to him sing, as Amanda puts it, "I think you are a natural comedian, not singer". Although Alex has tried his best, the Judges are saying a definite no to the singing but invite him back for a second audition but this time to return as a comic and not a singer. With a second chance, Alex heads off home with his Mum to practice some new material.

American Idol: Andrew Lloyd Webber Finds American Nancy!

Posted: 25 Apr 2008 10:52 AM CDT

Andrew Lloyd Webber

Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber missed the I’d Do Anything live show last week as he was in Las Vegas mentoring the contestants from American Idol.

Lloyd Webber described the experience as “bizarre” but thinks he may have found the American Nancy!

Webber said: “I had a great time on American Idol. It was a wonderful, highly theatrical and somewhat bizarre evening.

“If ever Cameron Mackintosh brings Oliver! to Broadway there was a girl who would be one of the greatest Nancys ever.”

Commenting on the contestants performances, Webber said: “We had Jason, a guy with dreadlocks, singing ‘Memory’ and a heart-stopping moment when Brooke, who gave a sensational performance at the dress rehearsal, forgot the lyric and had to start again at the beginning of ‘You Must Love Me’, which is something that has never happened in the history of Idol.”

American Idol airs on ITV2 at 9pm tonight.

VIDEO: Come Dine With Me In Coventry!

Posted: 24 Apr 2008 02:32 PM CDT

Channel 4’s popular daytime culinary extravaganza, Come Dine with Me , moves into peak-time and this week the show heads to Coventry, where four contenders each stage a dinner party to compete for the honorary title of winning host and the chance to win £1,000.

Pub landlord James feels the heat in the kitchen as he prepares his three courses under the watchful eye of the steely Marie, who’s determined to create the winning meal. ‘Mad scientist’ Vera seems to terrify, rather than entertain, her fellow diners, and Jon most definitely looks the part in his chef’s whites; it’s just a shame his cooking doesn’t live up to his appearance.

During the hour, there’s food on the floor, sleeping at the table and throwing up in the loo! With dignity, pride and the contents of someone’s stomach to lose, who will scoop the £1,000 prize?

Same Difference Get £1 Million Record Deal!

Posted: 24 Apr 2008 02:26 PM CDT

X Factor runners up, Same Difference, have been offered a £1 million record deal by Simon Cowell’s record company, Syco, according to The Sun.

The brother and sister duo had originally been offered a one single deal, which had been delayed, but reports now suggest that they will now release a full album which will include songs that have been written by previous X Factor winner, Leona Lewis.

Same Difference’s Sarah said: "We were on the train to London when we got the call.

"I think we probably deafened all the passengers because we were screaming so much.

"We still can't believe it - we are so happy.

"When the single launch was put back we feared the worse. But now we are totally and utterly ecstatic and we can't wait to get into the studio."

The album tracks won’t just be written by Leona, as the writers behind the smash hits from High School Musical will also be composing new material for them.

Emma Chawner Returns For X Factor 2008!

Posted: 24 Apr 2008 02:16 PM CDT

You may remember Emma Chawner from last years X Factor as the 18 year old blonde girl who showed up wearing the dress her father made. Emma attempted to sing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ for the XF judges, but faced a stinging criticism from Simon Cowell over her babyish singing and awful outift.

The Sun has reported that Emma intends to return for the new series of the ITV talent show, and has already passed the first round of auditions in Manchester. The hairdressing student, from Ramsbottom in Lancashire, is so sure that Simon was wrong about her that she has taken singing lessons since last years audition and feels that she is ready to face the judges once more.

“I’ve done lots of singing since the show. I’ve been on Radio One with Atomic Kitten,” she told The Sun.

Gillian McKeith’s Food Bible: “I’m Not A Killjoy!”

Posted: 24 Apr 2008 06:57 AM CDT

You Are What You Eat

You Are What You Eat star, Gillian McKeith, may have been recently voted the Worst Dinner Party Guest in a poll, but she claims that she is much more fun than she seems on TV.

Gillian told MSN:

“I’m not a killjoy. I think people have misunderstood what I say. I have never said you can’t indulge.

“You can enjoy alcohol in moderation. The people on my shows are drinking a huge amount which is bad for their health, which is why I tell them to stop. But if you’re living a healthy life there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have a party or a celebration once in a while.

“If you’re eating healthily 90 per cent of the time you can enjoy alcohol or dessert.

“And I can make some great tasting healthy desserts. My raw cacao bean smoothie looks like chocolate and it tastes better than chocolate.”

Gillian is about to release a new book, Gillian McKeith’s Food Bible, which gives tips on how to improve medical conditions by changing your diet.

She said: “It’s called a bible for a reason, every home should have one. I’m not bossy, I’m passionate about what I do. I want people to realise that they have power over their own health. I want them to take control.”

Gillian McKeith’s Food Bible: The Complete A-Z Guide To A Healthy Life is published by Penguin on April 24.

Sofia’s Diary - Interview with Triona Campbell

Posted: 23 Apr 2008 06:45 PM CDT

Hi folks. I had a chat with Triona Campbell, a producer on the Bebo ‘TV’ show, Sofia’s Diary last week.

Sofia’s Diary is a daily TV show that follows the life of a teenager who’s been sent against her will to live in London. Who wouldn’t want to live in London, right? Well, Sofia finds the transition difficult, and the show revolves around her dealing with daily life, boy troubles and other problems.

It’s what they call a 360 degree experience - you interact by voting on what Sofia should do, and you can get updates to your mobile through a free service.

Anyway, feel free to listen to my chat with Triona - then go away and check out Sofia’s Diary on Bebo.

[Standard disclaimer: I’m new to this stuff - I’m not completely happy with the editing, but hopefully the podcasts and stuff will improve in time!]

If you’re already a fan of Sofia’s Diary, let us know what you like about the show in the comments.

Paula Abdul Wants To Do Dancing With Stars

Posted: 23 Apr 2008 07:00 AM CDT

Paula Abdul

American Idol judge, Paula Abdul has revealed that she would love to compete in American reality TV show, Dancing With Stars.

The singer-choreographer told OK!: “I’m a huge fan of Dancing With The Stars. It would be a phenomenal experience for me to be a student and to learn a form of dance that I’ve never been introduced to.”

Paula may have been a choreographer for artists such as Janet Jackson, but insists that she was never a professional dancer.

“I was always a choreographer. But I’ve never been able to be a student and I’ve never done partnering,” she revealed.

“If I even dabbled with it, I had to be the guy and that’s not fun. I want to wear the pretty dresses like the girls.”

“I’m just hypothetically thinking about it. I’d be honoured, but that does not confirm or deny anything that’s out there right now,” she added.

Simon Cowell To Call First Son Max?

Posted: 23 Apr 2008 06:08 AM CDT

Simon Cowell - X Factor

I don’t know how seriously to take this story, but apparently showbiz agent, Max Clifford has revealed that the gorgeous kids on this years series of Britain’s Got Talent have made our very own Mr Cowell broody.

Not only does Simon want to settle down with Terri Seymour and have kids, but apparently he has also promised to name his first born after his agent, Max Clifford.

'I had a chat with Simon tonight and he said he was going to call his first son Max after me,' said Max to the Daily Mirror.

'It's very flattering because Kerry Katona has named her boy after me too. I'll probably have to wait until I'm 100 to see if Simon will keep his promise. It's very kind of him though.'

VIDEO: Andrew Lloyd Webber Talks American Idol In The Phantom Theatre LAS VEGAS!

Posted: 22 Apr 2008 04:19 PM CDT

The kind folks over at andrewlloydwebber.com have provided us with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s latest video blog.

Sir Andrew chats to us from The Phantom theatre in Las Vegas, which I have to say looks like the most amazing theatre in the world. I had no idea that one had been purpose built just to suit that production.

Andrew talks about his stint on American Idol as well as last week’s I’d Do Anything show.

You’ve just gotta love those Elvis glasses!

Kerry Katona Set For Series Two!

Kerry Katona: Crazy In Love

Oh No! I had gone and got my hopes up when the tabloids recently revealed that Kerry Katona had pulled out of any further episodes of her MTV reality TV show.

However, Kerry’s showbiz agent, Max Clifford has revealed that the show was only cut short because Kerry had the baby and that she will be filming a second series later in the year.

“They brought it to an end because she had the baby,” he revealed. “They’re actually filming with her this week, and then they’re going to do another series.”

Max was speaking on the red carpet for the premiere of Three And Out - in which Kerry has a cameo role.

“I think the world of Kerry. She’s at home with baby Max - otherwise she would have been here. She’s got a lovely little part - it’s quite a funny little part,” he said. “It’s her first movie. She actually did a TV series in Ireland called Showbands a couple of years ago. But this is a little cameo role. She loved it, and they seemed to quite like it, so who knows what it might lead to.”

Princess Tiaammii In Hospital With Chickenpox

Posted: 22 Apr 2008 08:46 AM CDT

Princess Tiaamii (ridiculous name I know!) the daughter of Jordan and Peter Andre has been hospitalised in America after contracting a severe strain of chickenpox.

The Daily Mail hit out at Jordan and Peter yesterday for traipsing the sick toddler all over LA, when she should have been tucked up in bed.

Andre told The Sun: “We’ve got to take her to hospital. She’s not good. Once she’s better I’ll be all smiles.”

The couple’s spokesperson revealed that Princess had caught the virus from two-year-old brother Junior, saying: “Princess came out in spots on Saturday. They took her to a doctor, who said it was chickenpox.

The couple are in LA to shoot and promote their reality TV show, which will be broadcast on US network E!.

US Want To Sex Up Leona Lewis

Posted: 22 Apr 2008 08:12 AM CDT

leona-lewis-bleeding-love

Leona Lewis is in line for an LA makeover according to todays Sun newspaper.

Leona has managed to score a number one single in the States with Bleeding Love, but her team of advisors have hired Mariah Carey’s personal trainer to help get her into better shape.

'Leona has done brilliantly in the US,' reveals a source to The Sun.

'But some of her team think she needs to be a bit sexier if she wants to have the longevity of female artists like Mariah, Janet Jackson or Madonna.'

So in effect they want to have huge boobs that fall into her armpits, have massive weight fluctuations before baring her breasts at a large sporting event and then top it all off by shooting an album cover in which she thrusts her barely covered groin at the camera.

Somehow I think she is better just the way she is!

Coleen McLoughlin Dropped As Face Of Asda

Posted: 22 Apr 2008 07:57 AM CDT

Coleen McLoughlin

Reality TV star, Coleen McLoughlin has been dropped as the face of Asda and is to be replaced by a more glamourous model. It would seem that Asda want to attract a more middle class customer and are no longer targetting the chav market.

’Among the names being considered is Carla Bruni. She's very attractive and a highly stylish person. We feel she would fit in very well with the George look,' said spokesman Ed Watson.

'Coleen has been a fantastic ambassador for us,' George brand director Fiona Lambert told The Sun.

'But we want to show that our core fashions are for everyone.'

I’m sure Coleen isn’t too upset though. She has just scored a second series of her ITV2 reality TV show, Coleen’s Real Women. You can apply for the show by following this link.

Big Brother 2008: 16 New Housemates!!

Posted: 21 Apr 2008 03:29 PM CDT

Big Brother 2007 Logo

The Star, which can always be trusted for its reliable sources (?) has reported that there will be a whopping 16 housemates entering the Big Brother house this year.

They report that the housemates will be some of the rowdiest we have ever seen and that the security staff have been warned to be on the lookout for bustups.

A show source said: "Get ready for Big Big Brother. With so many people waiting to burst through those doors at Elstree TV Studios, it'll be like the January sales at Next!

"The house may have had some alterations but in such a confined space it's a tight squeeze – and tempers can flare quickly in there."

Is anyone else dreading this series or is it just me? The thought of being objected to a whole summer watching chavs with asbos flashing their privates parts at ‘hidden’ cameras makes me want to heave!

Bret Michaels’ Rock Of Love

Posted: 21 Apr 2008 10:21 AM CDT

Bret Michaels' Rock Of Love

I’m not ashamed to say that one of my childhood rock heroes was Bret Michaels from Poison. As a matter of fact, I still listen to their earlier albums today. So Rock Of Love could either be a blessing or a curse, right?

What’s Rock Of Love?

Rock Of Love is a reality TV come dating show that revolves around Bret Michaels. Twenty women compete for the chance to ‘win’ true love with the bandana-wearing rocker.

All the reality TV elements apply. Bret puts the girls through a rigorous series of tests, all scientifically designed to tell him which girl will be right for him. Yes, your ability to pole dance and strip will tell Bret everything he needs to know about how compatible you both are.

And of course, with an ambitious group of rock chicks battling it out for Bret’s *ahem* ‘heart’, it isn’t long before the rivalry between girls boils over into open hostility.

The ‘babes’ aren’t exactly babes though…

One of the funniest moments of the episode I watched the other night was one of the girls - who’d had so much plastic surgery her own mother wouldn’t recognise her - earnestly telling the camera that beauty was only skin deep. That’s where reality TV offers the big laughs: people who can trot out cliched rubbish like this without realising how hypocritical they sound.

The worst thing about the girl in question was how awful she looked. Imagine paying thousands of pounds for plastic surgery only to end up looking like you’ve been made up using Dr Frankenstein’s throwaway parts.

And looking around the group, most of them aren’t lookers. And I know you’re thinking “but Gerard, how can you be so superficial?” And I’ll tell you that I’m watching a so-called rock star looking for love on a music channel. Rock stars are supposed to be sexy and attract sexy people. That’s the law, my friend.

OK, so Bret looks like he’s been botoxed within an inch of his life these days. Maybe he can’t afford to be choosy? I don’t know. But seriously, when a rock star can’t attract reasonably good looking women, what hope is there for the rest of us?

But it’s car crash stuff, right?

Yes sir, it is. There’s a ‘germophobic’ contestant who won’t kiss Bret because he’s been kissing all the other girls (yet she’ll stay in the competition for her chance at true love with him).

Then two of the girls are sitting on a couch waiting for Bret. They decide to make small talk: “I like horses,” one declares. “Horses are so pretty,” agrees the other.

Bret himself appears to be a little less than interested in the mix of slightly aged rock hags and silicone-enhanced airheads. And he loses cool points for overusing the word “rock”, too.

Rock Of Love promises to be a train wreck but a televisual treat at the same time. Just like the awful-but-awesome Ladette To Lady, Rock Of Love has the right blend of preposterous premise, nasty contestants and a rock ringmaster keeping the whole thing afloat.

Gok’s Travelling Catwalk is coming to a city near you!

Posted: 21 Apr 2008 08:01 AM CDT

Channel 4's style icon Gok Wan is scouring the country to find Britain's fashion icons for his new primetime series in which he turns his attention to how to look sensational fully clothed.

According to Gok, style has nothing to do with age, looks or class – you either have it or you don't.

This May, he'll be hitting high streets, offices and factories around the UK in search of Britain's top fashionistas. And once he's found them he'll be asking them to strut their stuff on his traveling catwalk.

Each week, the cream of the fashion crop will win a place in the grand final with a chance to be crowned the most stylish person in Britain and to win a fabulous fashion prize.

Style supremo Gok is looking for men and women with originality and flair and who aren't afraid to show it. Do you think YOU have style? Is YOUR look a cut above the rest? Could YOU be Britain's undiscovered fashion icon? If so, prove it!

Gok's traveling catwalk is coming to a city near you in May. The first stop on the trail is CARDIFF, followed by BRISTOL, BIRMINGHAM, LIVERPOOL, EDINBURGH, NEWCASTLE and BELFAST. Turn up on the day to strut your stuff ON A CATWALK among your fellow fashion lovers.

Anyone can enter - all you'll need is the confidence to pull it off. Gok's especially on the lookout for people with their own unique brand of style – it's not about designer fashion or expensive price tags, it's all about individuality and not being afraid to stand out in the crowd. Britain is known the world over for its street style – it's where the best designers in the world look to for inspiration, and this is all about celebrating that fact – Britain has style like no other country on earth!

Those turning up to strut their stuff will be required to have photo ID (such as a passport or driving license) as proof of age and identity. No ID, no entry.

Gok's Clothes Show is set to be the weekly must-watch fashion programme with a front row seat to the best of high street and designer shopping, due for transmission later this summer.

For more information on when the travelling catwalks are coming to you, please visit www.channel4.co.uk/gokclothes

If you want to enter EITHER send in a photo with a few words about your style to stylish@endemoluk.com or just turn up on the day!

Britain’s Got Talent: Charlie Green

Posted: 19 Apr 2008 02:26 PM CDT

How cute was Charlie Green on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent show.

He sang summer wind, and although at first I thought he was going to be no more than a mini Ray Quinn he turned out to be amazing.

Charlie can sing, dance and wow the women with his gorgeous little smile. What more could a BGT winner need?

When I read that Patsy Palmer wanted to play the role of Nancy in the West End version of Oliver, I was sceptical to say the least. But I got my hands on this clip where, granted, she only sings a few lines of ‘As Long As He Needs Me’, she sounded great to me. And she has the accent down as well……maybe she should have entered I’d Do Anything. She would have been better that Keisha!

Britain’s Got Talent: Andrew Johnston’s Story Exaggerated!!!

Posted: 19 Apr 2008 12:49 PM CDT

Britain's Got Talent Logo

I blooming well knew it!!!

After the debut performance of Andrew Johnston on Britain’s Got Talent last Saturday, we were bombarded with stories of bullying and deprivation on the show and in the media the next day. Unreality TV were quick to ask if we were being played by the BGT team.

Today Andrew’s mum Morag spoke to the Daily Mail and admitted that the Britain’s Got Talent team had exaggerated Andrew’s plight somewhat. In fact she revealed that the family does NOT live on a council estate as reported and that anyone who had teased Andrew about his singing is now very supportive of his dream.

Morag explained: “I watched the programme myself on Saturday night, and I read the newspapers, and I thought: ‘Oh my goodness, what will the neighbours think? That isn’t the way it is at all.’

“It sounded like we had drug barons roaming the street, but it’s not that bad. I did tell them that when they were filming. I said it wasn’t a council estate, it was Housing Association, but I don’t think they knew the difference.

“They cut those bits out. People seem to have to put ‘council’ before the word ‘estate’. I don’t know why that is. I suppose it makes a better story, doesn’t it? And you kind of expect things to get hyped up a bit.”

Commenting on the bullies she added: “I don’t even know if they realise that they were the ones who caused him so much pain. You know what kids are like. They have no idea when they are being cruel.”

So who feels manipulated then? Anyone?

I’d Do Anything: Niamh Perry’s Acne Agony!

Posted: 19 Apr 2008 12:41 PM CDT

I’d Do Anything contestant, Niamh Perry, was once so self concious about her acne that she feared leaving the house.

“She became very self-conscious. She always had so much talent at music and drama,” a friend told The Mirror. “Everybody knew she was destined to be a star. But it was never going to happen while she had such bad skin.”

However Niamh consulted specialist dermatologists and was put on strong antibiotics and cream, after which her skin gradually improved.

Madonna Appears On Britain’s Got Talent!

Posted: 19 Apr 2008 07:57 AM CDT

Britain's Got Talent Logo

OK so it’s not the real Madonna but this lady has more reasons than most for wanting to make it through to the live shows. Madonna Decia from the Philippines came to the UK to make money for her family, but has had to leave her two children behind with her parents, "I have had to make this hard choice to leave my children behind so I can came her to make money or they would starve".

Despite sending home money every week Madonna has not seen her two daughters in over six months and desperately wants to save up enough money to fly her children to the UK. "If I do well in this competition it would be life changing not just for me but for my kids and it could be the chance for us to be together. Now I am singing for my girls and their future".

As she explains her situation to the Judges, Amanda is welling up before Madonna even opens her mouth to sing, getting Madonna going too, so the chivalrous Dec runs on stage with a tissue. Once she's composed herself, Madonna launches into a rendition of Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You, blowing the Judges and the audience away and leaving not a dry eye in the house, "I know you were singing that song for your babies weren't you, and you do not need to worry because I think you are going to go such a long way in this show and you'll get that money to get your children on a plane to be with you because you lady have talent", weeps Amanda.

With a reaction like that and a huge smile on Simon's face, surely Madonna is one step closer to seeing her daughters again?

Britain’s Got Talent: Charlie Wernham Gets One Over On Simon

Posted: 19 Apr 2008 06:47 AM CDT

Britain's Got Talent Logo

Hoping to keep everyone smiling on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent is 13 year old Charlie Wernham, a budding young comedian from Essex.

"Why did you enter Britain's Got Talent?" asks Simon, "Because everyone tells me I'm a funny guy, well my Nan mainly". As the cheeky little chap launches into his routine it's not long before the Judges and the audience are in stitches, and he seems to be the first comedian whose jokes Simon actually gets, "We have seen some terrible comedians on this show, but these were a, the only jokes that made me laugh, and b, the only ones I've heard that I understand, if your Nan discovered you I'd like her to come and work for me".

Simon then asks where Charlie's Nan is, "she died a year ago" replies Charlie to a mortified looking Simon, but Charlie has the last laugh, laughing his head off to Simon's reaction, "Are you winding me up? Why are you smiling" asks Simon, "no she did die a year ago" explains Charlie "But it was great to see the big man cry!!"

Britain’s Got Talent: Anya Sparks Fails To Wow Simon!

Posted: 19 Apr 2008 06:43 AM CDT

Britain's Got Talent Logo

As tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent auditions move to London, 42 yr old Anya Sparks, a stay at home mum of three takes her chance to impress the judges.

Anya loves dancing whilst doing the housework, "dancing wiles away the time whilst I'm dusting, I really let rip in the house". So she's dusted off her pinny put on her best sparkly outfit and is ready to let it all hang out for the Judges. Pulling a chair onto stage, and with a very loose revealing top, Anya goes for it dancing to Britney's hit Toxic. Simon is really unsure where to look but Amanda, Piers and the 2,000 strong audience are loving it and dance along with her. But Ant & Dec are concerned that Anya's top may slip and result in a stage "spillage".

As Simon hits Piers and Amanda's buzzers, Anya's time is up, and Simon asks "what the bloody hell was that? There is not one person on the planet that would pay to see that show", "That was big girl power Simon" Anya retaliates, much to the delight of the audience. But Piers is obviously impressed, "I've waited my entire life for a woman like you", but will she get the two yes's she needs to make it through to the next stage of the competition?

Gladiators Hit By String Of Injuries!

Posted: 19 Apr 2008 06:32 AM CDT

Gladiators is set to make a triumphant return on Sky One tomorrow night, however a show source has revealed to The mediaguardian website that the team has been hit with a stream of injuries and that at least one person won’t be able to compete in the opening show.

“It’s been a health and safety minefield,” a source is quoted as saying. “There have been injuries left, right and centre. It’s not been helped by the fact that the show has been put together quite quickly.”

A Sky spokeswoman told the website: “The health and safety of our Gladiators and contenders is our number one priority. We have three times the required levels of health and safety on the show and have spent the last week reviewing every single element to make sure this is the safest possible environment for the games before we start filming for real.

“We would never jeopardise the wellbeing of anyone, whether they be in front of or behind the camera. It is worth putting into perspective, however, that this is Gladiators - a tough physical show for athletes. It’s not Family Fortunes!”

Oh the convenience of it all astounds me! Here is Chanelle Hayes, about to launch a new reality TV show on VH1 (watch the clip here) and her debut single and someone has only gone and leaked a sex tape featuring her to youtube.

To say that it is unconvincing is like saying that the Pope is a little bit religious! Will you be watching Chanelle’s new show? I’d love to say I won’t, but you just can’t beat a bit of car crash TV!

Piers Morgan Desperate To Beat Alan Sugar In BAFTA’s!

Posted: 17 Apr 2008 03:28 PM CDT

TV talent judge, Piers Morgan, revealed on GMTV he's desperate to beat Sir Alan Sugar in this Sunday’s BAFTA TV Awards.

Piers told GMTV today he's particularly keen to beat Sir Alan Sugar when Britain's Got Talent runs head-to-head with The Apprentice to win this year's Sky+ Audience Award for Programme of the Year.

"He fired me on the Comic Relief Apprentice and loved every second of doing it," said Piers. "I want to get revenge on Sugar, so I've said to everyone, 'Get out, vote for Britain's Got Talent, and we may fire Alan.' Losing would be bad enough for him, but losing to me would make his world end."

The TV judge went on to reveal he's worried Britain's got no talent at all. Speaking to GMTV's Andrew Castle, Piers added: "I've told Simon Cowell there should be a question mark at the end of the title, because I'm not entirely convinced that Britain has that much talent."

The Apprentice: Simon Smith You’re FIRED!

Posted: 17 Apr 2008 06:11 AM CDT

On the Apprentice ast night we saw Satellite TV engineer and former soldier Simon Smith get the boot from Sir Alan as the business moghul declared that he was out of his depth.

The teams in last night’s show had to set up their own photography stands in a busy shopping centre and Simon’s team seemed to be plagued by Claire Young and Alex Wortherspoon from the off. The pair tore Simon’s team apart, rather than backing their leader and though the three ended up in the boardroom with Sir Alan decided that being a grafter just wasn’t enough, so he sent Simon the squaddie home.

I was disappointed in Sir Alan once more last night as I actually thought that Simon was a breath of fresh air in the show. He was willing to work hard and put his neck on the line, with very little macho posturing in comparison to the other men.

I believe that Alan Sugar saved the other two last night because Claire is inflammatory and will make good TV in the coming weeks by pissing off just about everyone else in her team, and of course he couldn’t get rid of Alex whose boyish good looks are drawing loads of attention from magazines such as Heat etc. So Simon was sent to pasture. Can Alan Sugars reputation as a business genius survive this show as he makes bad decision after bad decision? He has certainly dropped in my estimation. What about yours?

Chanelle Hayes tells Us Why Charley Uchea Didn’t Make It!

Posted: 16 Apr 2008 04:06 PM CDT

Former Big Brother babe, Chanelle Hayes has revealed why she believes fellow housemate, Charley Uchea hasn’t hit the big time since the show ended.

“Love her or hate her, people tuned in to see Charley, but she never made the most of that afterwards,” the 20-year-old told the Daily Star.

“You need to find the right agent for you,” she told the newspaper. “You have to get on with them and, most importantly, trust that they are going to do what’s right for you.”

Chanelle also offered words of wisdom to any new housemates considering entering the house this June.

“Many people come out and think they are going to be the next Ant or Dec, but you have to be realistic,” she apparently said. “I haven’t pigeon holed myself and tried loads of stuff like modelling, music, or even launching my own perfume. If you know what you want then go for it. But be open minded and prepare to work hard.”

Britain’s Next Top Model Series Four On Living

Posted: 16 Apr 2008 09:11 AM CDT

Bigger and bolder than ever, the brand new fourth series of Britain's Next Top Model struts onto LIVING this week. Once again, the team are hunting for the next catwalk queen, with 14 girls ready to battle it out for the prizes of being the face of a cosmetics campaign, a spread in a glossy magazine and a modelling contract. Model Lisa Snowdon hosts the show, joined by new judges contributing editor to Tatler magazine Gerry Deveaux, and Icelandic model-turned- photographer Huggy Ragnarsson.

As seasoned fans will know, the show is not just about pouting and posing – there's also the gloriously entertaining bitching and backstabbing to enjoy too. The girls waste no time in throwing down the gauntlet this series – the start of the show sees Stefanie declare: "I'm gonna stop at nothing to get what I want", while Alex announces: "I'm going to win BNTM because there's nothing I won't do to achieve it." However, the hopefuls' cockiness is short-lived when Lisa reveals their first task – they must sell themselves to an auditorium full of industry professionals. While some of them shine, others fall flat.

For their next challenge, the girls are horrified to discover they have to remove every scrap of make-up they have lovingly applied to their faces. Even worse, they are split into pairs and each must decide which is their partner's best and worst feature. Alex is unhappy when Aaron decides her worst body part is her "flabby arms", so Aaron tries to make amends by swapping to her "muffin handles" instead, with limited success. Then, at the week's photoshoot, the contestants are shocked to discover they must pose semi-nude. Gerry Deveaux directs the shoot and does not mince his words – after a
lacklustre performance by Musayeroh he comments: "Based on today's photoshoot, there's not a model there." With one of the hopefuls set to be eliminated, could Musayeroh's dream be over before it has properly begun?

Gin and Kate: Another Britain’s Got Talent Pull At The Heartstrings!

Posted: 16 Apr 2008 08:44 AM CDT

Britain's Got Talent Logo

This is just getting blooming ridiculous! Another Britain’s Got Talent act, another sob story.

Earlier in the week we were told of the hard times faced by 13 year old Andrew Johnston, and today 16 year old Kate has spoken out about the bullying she has endured because she spends all her spare time with her dog Gin.

Kate told The Sun: "The bullies called me Pedigree, and every time I walked past, they would shout, 'Woof'.

"I would be in tears but I knew that I had Gin to come home to.

Again the ITV TV show has reduced another talented youngster to just a sob story in a bid to capture our hearts!

I love the variety of acts in Britain’s Got Talent and I love when they get to perform on the live show, but please please please, can we cut out all this hype and crap and concentrate on what is really important? I’ll give you a hint…….Britain’s Got TALENT!

VIDEO: Lloyd Webber Doesn’t Know How Keisha Ended Up In Bottom Two!

Posted: 15 Apr 2008 10:41 AM CDT

The kind people over at andrewlloydwebber.com have provided us with Sir Andrew’s latest ‘I’d Do Anything’ video blog .

Sir Andrew admits that he doesn’t know why the public aren’t voting for Keisha (because she’s obnoxious that’s why!) and that he thinks his Nancies could rival Girls Aloud.

Check back next week for the next installment!

Andrew Lloyd Webber Won’t Be In Studio For I’d Do Anything

Posted: 15 Apr 2008 06:21 AM CDT

Andrew Lloyd Webber

We reported just a few weeks ago that Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber would be guest starring on an upcoming American Idol show in the US. Well the show goes out this week and his involvement in it means that Sir Andrew won’t be in the I’d Do Anything studios this Saturday nihgt.

Fear not though, all you Lloyd Webber fans can still get your weekly fix as the master will be there via a satellite link up.

A show source told The Sun: "Andrew has to be the centre of attention. He wouldn't miss the show for anything.

"It's going to be a bit of an effort but, barring any satellite issues, he'll be with us."

Britain’s Got Talent: Can Piers Morgan Ever Be Beautiful?

Posted: 15 Apr 2008 06:16 AM CDT

Piers Morgan has revealed today that he is under constant pressure from his American advisors to look more glamourous on TV.

The former newspaper editor has a team of Hollywood stylists and MSN quoted him as saying:

“It’s a constant battle. I have a hilarious gay hairdresser on America’s Got Talent who is determined to make me have highlights and actually bought me a highlighting kit for my birthday. But, whatever it is, it’s not come out of the box and it’s not going to. I don’t even use conditioner in my hair.”

But I have to wonder if all the effort is worth it. Piers certainly isn’t ugly, but he’s no George Clooney and no amount of styling and coiffing is going to turn him into a swan. The reason that people in America like Piers is because he does a good Simon Cowell impression, it is definitely not because he looks good. He should play to his strengths and leave the hair dying and trendy clothes to someone who can carry it!

Jodie Marsh Talks Crap Again

Jodie told New! magazine: “This is my natural skin. Again, it’s s*** I have to deal with daily - people saying, ‘Look how orange she is.’ I can’t tell you how to use a sun bed and I don’t use fake tan.”

Now of course I can’t prove that she’s lying, but really….does she think we are a pack of idiots?

Piers Morgan Hits Out At Graham Norton

Posted: 14 Apr 2008 12:50 PM CDT

Britain's Got Talent Logo

Piers Morgan has hit out at I’d Do Anything host, Graham Norton after he implied that ITV relied on sob stories to bolster its ratings.

In an interview last week, Norton singled out school boy Andrew Johnston from Britain’s Got Talent who before he sang, told the judges all about the hard time bullies were giving him in school about singing.

Piers reportedly said: “For me the most poignant moment came when young Andrew revealed he had been bullied at school for pursuing his dream of being a chorister.

“Pick on someone your own size Norton, you mincing, talentless little fool.”

Here’s hoping Piers hasn’t read this article then!

Sky One: Gladiators Revealed!

Gladiators

Sky One today (Friday 11 April, 2008) announced 12 all new GLADIATORS, modern day heroes who will rule the arena and the fate of the 'Contenders' in a big, bold reinvention of the 90s TV sensation. The scale of the show is personified in the 12 people who form an elite group of athletes – our GLADIATORS. Bigger, badder and better than ever before they are:

* ATLAS
(Sam Bond, 24, Bournemouth). As strong as He-Man, fights hard and with dignity.
* BATTLEAXE (Shirley Webb, 26, Edinburgh). A weapon of war, domineering, aggressive and indomitable. Battleaxe is a warrior queen.
* DESTROYER (Damar Martin, 38, Croydon). Determined and strong, angry and unstoppable – nothing gets in his way.
* ENIGMA (Jenny Pacey, 25, Borehamwood). Mysterious and beautiful, contradictory and unpredictable, impossible to capture.
* ICE (Caroline Pearce, 27, Cambridge). Cold, steely, frosty and beautiful.
* INFERNO (Jemma Palmer, 24, Tamworth). Hot, fiery, dangerous and destructive.
* OBLIVION (Nicholas Aldis, 21, Norwich). Leaves nothing in his path – extinguishes his opposition.
* PANTHER (Kara Nwidobie, 26, Morecambe). Beautiful, sleek, aggressive and powerful. Panther is the strongest and fiercest of the wild cats.
* PREDATOR (Du'aine Ledejo, 36, Newark). Volatile, quick and poisonous, hunts down prey and takes no prisoners.
* SPARTAN (Roderick Bradley, 24, Grantham). Handsome, disciplined and brave. Will take on any army – the perfect warrior.
* TEMPEST (Lucy Boggis, 19, Quintin, Wiltshire). Naturally beautiful, a force of nature bringing furious agitation and commotion.
* TORNADO (David McIntosh, 22, Altrincham). Violently destructive windstorm full of unstoppable energy – leaves you in a spin.

In the eight years since GLADIATORS was last on UK screens, the series has gained a place in the nation's hearts. Now it's back with a 21st Century makeover, but retaining all of the classic elements that made the original such a massive hit.

Richard Woolfe, Director of Programming, Sky One, Two and Three commented: "The games are bigger, the contenders are stronger and the Gladiators are even more unbelievable…we've found extraordinary characters. It's a colossus of a programme and it's going to blow people's socks off."

Ian Wright and Kirsty Gallacher preside over the contest as 32 contenders take on TVs toughest challenges in the hope of becoming crowned series champion and winning the £50,000 prize. They are joined by original referee John Anderson on the new series to be filmed on two giant sound stages at Shepperton Studios, the biggest studio sets in the UK.

32 of the UK's finest athletes have been whittled down from 20,000 applicants and they will face the awesome power of the 12 all new GLADIATORS in iconic events such as Duel, Powerball, Hang Tough and, of course, The Eliminator. Do they have the speed, the strength and the heart to beat them?

The musical genius is sure that his girls are way more talented than girls groups like Girls Aloud. he commented:

“You could put out of this show a girl band that would knock Girls Aloud and the memory of any those other girl bands right out of the window.

“If you put Niamh together with Rachel and Samantha and Jessie, I mean, crikey! Girls Disallowed, I think. Fantastic kids. Fantastic, all of them.”

Big Brother 2008: Will There Be Kids?

Posted: 14 Apr 2008 08:57 AM CDT

Big Brother 2007 Logo

Big Brother bosses have started the gossip wheels turning early this year as they prepare for the shows kick off this June. Whilst getting the BB house refurbished they have asked to have a small child sized bed installed, sparking rumours that they will be allowing a contestant to bring in their son or daughter.

A builder working on the refurb told the Daily Star: "We were decorating the bedroom when we got word of a surprise delivery. A lorry pulled up and out came this small bed.

"We thought someone was pulling an April's Fool joke on us. But it was there as clear as day. We had to take it into the Big Brother store room where we keep props and furniture.

"It's got us all wondering what on Earth is going on. Either a kid is going in the house or maybe one of the contestants
is very small. It'd be a first in the UK to have someone's son or daughter on the main show.

"Can you imagine? Knowing Big Brother and how cruel they can be I wouldn't be surprised if one of the housemates' kids is coming in – and how embarrassing would that be for their poor mum or dad.

"Or they might make one poor soul sleep in this tiny bed for the whole series – I don't think it will be for a dwarf.
"If you're stuck in something that size for 13 weeks you'll be screaming for a good night's sleep by the end of it."

Tara Leaves I’d Do Anything!
